BGC Housing Group, BGC Australia‘s housing division, has been ordered to pay $25,000 on behalf of its partner group Ventura for compliance issues at Ventura’s building sites, the State Administrative Tribunal has ruled.

During yesterday’s SAT hearing, the Building Services Board claimed that between 2016 and 2020, eight Ventura sites were not properly managed and supervised, and non-compliant issues were identified at these sites.

It is understood that the breaches occurred before the BGC merged with Ventura in mid-2020.

BGC Housing Group executive general manager Michael Bartier said the company regretted the incidents that occurred on the sites and the builder was committed to improving.

“Following on from the merger of Ventura to BGC Housing Group, BGC Housing Group implemented a number of processes, procedures and internal controls across the Ventura entity that BGC Housing Group had previously adopted,” he said.

“Since the merger, Ventura has not had any similar issues, despite the significant increase of work from stimulus.”

BGC agreed to pay the fine on behalf of Ventura.
