The state government’s expedited planning pathway has received a further five applications for apartment developments west of Perth in the final days of its operation.
Sirona Urban has applied to build a $125 million apartment development on Station Street in Cottesloe.
The proposal includes 166 multiple dwellings, restaurants, shops, offices and a small bar.
Sirona’s application is the fifth development in the Town of Cottesloe to be submitted to the State Development Assessment Unit, which was set up during COVID-19 to expedite significant projects.
In December, Perth developer Barry Baltinas put forward plans to build a seven-storey apartment building at 122 Marina Parade, alongside Gary Dempsey’s derailed proposal for a seven-storey residential complex.
Plans for an apartment development at the site of the Ocean Beach Hotel on Marine Parade were also submitted to the SDAU just weeks ago.
Australis Capital Management applied to build an 11-storey mixed use development including 72 dwellings on Stirling Highway in Claremont, valued at $46.3 million.
CLE Town Planning + Design has lodged an application for an $185 million apartment complex on Harbourne Street in Glendalough, including 404 dwellings across six buildings to a maximum height of nine storeys.
UrbanPlan applied to build a $33 million apartment development at 3 Franklin Street and 119, 123 and 139 Claremont Crescent in Swanbourne, including 27 residences and commercial tenancies across 1,451sqm.
In Fremantle, PTS Town Planning submitted a proposal to build a $65 million 19-storey apartment development at 28 Cantonment Street, comprising 217 rental-only apartments and two commercial tenancies.
The SDAU involves the WA Planning Commission determining applications, rather than local government planning bodies.
The SDAU has approved 16 projects worth more than $1.6 billion since its inception in July 2020.
It is set to consider another 34 proposals worth more than $3.5 billion.
It closed to applicants this week.
