Tara Mellor is the owner of Fingal Bay company GoldMiilk, the creator of the ‘perfect breastfeeding tee’.
“Our aim is to create a positive public breastfeeding experience with discreet zip ties to confidently breastfeed when out and about,” Tara said.
Starting the business gave Tara purpose as she is passionate about breastfeeding and wanted to help local Australian mums.
“GoldMiilk is set up in the garage with plastic garment storage tubs surrounded by my hubby’s motorbikes, but our products are unlike any other,” she said.
“As a new Mum, I quickly realised how taboo the topic of public breastfeeding was, which to me, is bizarre, so I set out to create a positive public breastfeeding experience for Mums.
“GoldMiilk as a brand was born when my sister and I, who had both had babies at the same time, couldn’t find stylish, everyday, accessible tees for breastfeeding in Australia.
“I also couldn’t find breast pads absorbent enough for my milk supply and finally, because I want to provide solutions for my local Mums,” Tara said.
Tara said that her goal is to guide local mums through “nurturing their biggest treasure, with tees to discreetly feed, to keep dignity and be comfortable, leaks and all”.
The Australian Rural Business Awards are presented by Australia’s leading online marketplace for rural and regional small businesses, Spend With Us, to celebrate, highlight and recognise the absolute talent that exists out there in rural and regional Australia.
The founders of Spend With Us, Jenn Donovan and Sarah Britz, have been overwhelmed by the response to the awards and are so excited to see how many businesses have been involved.
“There is nothing that gives us greater joy than seeing businesses from the bush succeed and to see their passion and determination shine through.
“We’re also so thankful to our amazing sponsors who have also been inspired by many of our winners’ journeys,” said Donovan and Britz.
